History of the name
The MBK Media Group name has been in use since 2004, when it belonged to a Louisville, Kentucky commercial print and marketing business that sold business cards, signage, promotional products and design services. That business wound down in 2017. The publication you are reading relaunched under the name in 2026 with a newsdesk, an editorial standards page and a public corrections log. It is a new publication, not a continuation of the print business, and it makes no claim to that business's customers or work.

MBK Newsdesk. Our news items, explainers and features carry the MBK Newsdesk byline. The newsdesk is the publication's editorial function: it selects what to cover, reads the primary sources, drafts, fact-checks against those sources, and publishes with an access date on every figure. Drafts may be prepared with software assistance; every published item is edited and checked by a person against the cited sources before it goes live, and the newsdesk owns any error and its correction.
